FAQs

What was the inspiration for the pattern designs of the Hunant sheets?

Our inspiration for the colour pattern sheets came from two of the oldest Welsh patterns dating back to the 1800’s and used mainly in double cloth blanket weaving. At Hunant we have given both patterns a modern twist using a range of colours that will add vibrancy to any bedroom.

What is the thread count of the Hunant organic cotton sheets?

All of our organic cotton sheets are woven with 200 threads per square inch. We believe thread count is a hugely misleading indicator of quality and durability – you can read more about that here. Instead, at Hunant we concentrate on what really affects the quality of your sheets – the calibre of the materials, the skill of the weavers, quality of the design and the absence of harmful chemicals and synthetics.

What size of sheets does Hunant sell?

We currently stock Hunant fitted sheets in Single, Double, King, and Super King standard UK sizes.

What certifications do Hunant sheets have?

All Hunant sheets are Global Organic certified. This means that for each and every step of the process - from picking the cotton to packing and labelling each Hunant sheet was done 100% ethically, under the strict supervisions of the Global Organic Textile Standard. (GOTS). We also take pride in only using the purest of materials in our products. All of our bedding is Oeko-Tex Certified, a rigorous environment standard which ensures no harmful chemicals are used at any stage of the manufacturing process.

Where are Hunant sheets made?

Our sheets are all made at one of the world’s premier textile mills in the Guimarães region of Northern Portugal. Surrounded by the beautiful countryside the family-run mill has been producing textiles for leading luxury brands across the world for more than 70 years.

How do I care for my Hunant sheets?

Good quality means durability. Not only our percale Hunant sheets are long-lasting while maintaining their shape and fit- they actually get better over time. Each wash makes percale sheets softer. The longer you have them, the softer they become. To put numbers into this, percale sheets last three times longer than other sheets.

When you first receive your brand new percale Hunant bed sheets, you might be surprised to find they are crisp but not as soft as you imagined them to be. That's the magic of percale - they will get softer and softer, the longer you have them and the more you wash them.

Washing

Just pop your sheets into the machine on a normal cycle in warm water (we'd recommend a gentle 40 degree cycle). Wash them inside out, and separately from your other laundry, using a small amount of mild liquid detergent (less than the manufacturer recommends) to keep them at their absolute best.

Drying

If it’s a sunny day and you have a laundry line, then drying your cotton sheets naturally is ideal! If this isn't possible, then drying flat or over a drying rack is the next best thing.

If tumble drying, do separately on a low heat (excessive heat can damage the threads, causing them to lose their softness and reducing their lifespan).

However you decide to dry your Hunant sheets, it’s best to keep them inside out until they are ready to go back onto the bed..
